Most businesses at the stage where AI starts to matter can't justify — and don't need — a full-time Chief AI Officer. What they need is someone with the judgment to own the roadmap, make the architectural decisions that don't create technical debt, and guide an internal team through implementation.
The Fractional CAIO engagement is embedded AI leadership on a defined part-time basis. You get the same seniority and accountability as a full-time hire, structured around what your stage actually requires.
This is a retainer, not a project. Minimum engagement: three months. The goal is capability transfer — by the end, your team should be able to operate and extend what we've built without the retainer.
